It was disappointment for Jamaica’s Paris Olympic finalist, Tia Clayton, in Zurich today as she came up short in her bid to be crowned Wanda Diamond Champion and in the process failed to gain a wildcard to next month’s World Championships in Tokyo Japan.

Clayton clocked 10.84 seconds for second as St. Lucia’s Olympic champion Julien Alfred won in 10.76 seconds, her first race in five weeks.

Meanwhile, National record holder, Ackera Nugent, produced a season best to win the 100m hurdles.

Nugent sped to 12.30 seconds to become Jamaica’s only Diamond League champion for 2025.

Reigning world champion Danielle Williams was fourth in 12.44

Nugent says she never worry about the other athletes in the field.
