Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent, secured her second straight Grand Slam title after winning the 100-metres hurdles in 11.11 seconds at the Philadelphia Grand Slam Track event at Franklin Field, on Sunday.
The win saw the 23-year-old pocket US$100,000 for the second consecutive time on the circuit.
Like several other Jamaican athletes, the national 100-metres hurdles record holder will miss the final leg of the Grand Slam Track series and with it the possibility of another big pay day.
This is because the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association set the National championships on the same weekend as the final leg of the Grand Slam series.
