O.W. East Area Rep. Jose Mai Continues Recovery After Knee Surgery

Orange Walk East Area Representative, Abelardo Mai, returned for a medical checkup in Guatemala this past weekend.  According to Mai, he still has approximately two more months of physical therapy remaining as he continues working toward a full recovery following recent knee surgery. The former cabinet minister, who has been largely absent from frontline political duties in recent weeks while recuperating, shared an update on his condition and explained that while the recovery process has been progressing steadily, doctors have advised him to continue rehabilitation before fully resuming his regular schedule.  Mai says that although the surgery was successful, the physical therapy remains an important part of regaining full strength and mobility in the knee.

Despite the lengthy recovery process, Mai says he remains eager to return to active political duties and hopes to once again serve at the Cabinet level, should Prime Minister John Briceño see it fit. Mai explained that he still believes he has much to contribute and would welcome the opportunity to continue serving the country in an expanded capacity once he is medically cleared.
