The government, through the Ministry of Sport, has rewarded Jamaica’s Olympic and Paralympic delegations for Paris 2024 with $45 million in grants.
Sixty-six athletes and 21 support staff members were recognised for their effort and dedication.
Among the athletes recognised were Tajay Gayle, Traves Smikle, Samantha Hall, Roshawn Clarke, Shian Salmon, Janieve Russell, Kemba Nelson, and many others.
The coaches and members of the technical staff recognised included Glen Mills, Michael Frater, Julian Robinson, Ann-Marie Smith, Ian Forbes, Dr. Noel Brown, Oral Thompson, Okele Stewart, and Ludlow Watts.
Sports Minister Olivia Grange handed out symbolic envelopes to several of the athletes and their coaches at a recent ceremony.
