Head of the Political Ombudsman Unit, Llofraun Thompson, says there are no signs of political tension in the Central Kingston constituency.

The observation comes after gunshots rang out near the location of the JLP meeting held in the constituency on Sunday night.

The police have since stated that the incident does not appear to be politically motivated.

Officials from the Office of the Political Ombudsman and the Police High Command toured sections of Central Kingston on Tuesday morning, following Sunday night’s incident.

Ms. Thompson told Nationwide News that coming out of the tour, it’s clear that both sides of the political aisle have been getting along well.

It says no act of violence, real or perceived, should be tolerated or allowed to interfere with the conduct of free and fair elections.
