Opposition Spokesman on Housing and Sustainable Living, Senator Floyd Morris, is maintaining that the Holness administration has not done enough to provide housing solutions for the average Jamaican.

He was speaking at a People’s National Party, PNP, meeting in North East St Andrew on Sunday.

During his recent budget presentation, Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness announced several initiatives to help empower Jamaicans to purchase a home.

These include increasing the loan limit for a single contributor at the National Housing Trust to $9 million and lowering the deposit requirements for low income earners from five per cent to two per cent.

The opposition leader, Mark Golding also presented a plan for housing. Among them is a $1 billion loan facility for young first time buyers.

Senator Morris says Mark Golding has the better plan.
