Orange Walk Family Appeals for Help to Save Daughter’s Hearing

A family from Orange Walk Town is pleading for the public’s assistance as they grapple with the illness of their daughter. Three-year-old Raquel Quinones is suffering from a condition that is deteriorating her hearing. Her family says they have made several trips to Merida and Chetumal, trying to get her the help she needs. However, they have been told that she needs a specialized test on her ears, which will cost them 25,000 pesos, just over $2,667 Belize dollars. But the test is only the first step, and her pending operation can cost as much as a hundred thousand Belize dollars per ear. Her father, Robert noted that the specialized testing and surgery are not available in Belize. Love News spoke with the father who said that they need to get the tests and surgeries done as soon as possible to give her a fighting chance at keeping her hearing.

Anyone wishing to assist the family can donate to Atlantic Bank Account Number 2120026161 under the name Roberto Carlos Quiniones. The family can also be reached at 620-6450.
