Orange Walk Police Investigate Assault on Mother and Infant

Police in Orange Walk are investigating an alleged assault involving two adult women and a two-month-old infant following a child custody exchange on Sunday night in Carmelita Village.  According to police, 32-year-old Cindy Crawford reported that around 8:40 p.m., her ex-common-law partner, arrived at her residence to collect their seven-year-old daughter. Crawford stated that while holding her infant daughter, she approached Bull’s vehicle to hand over a pair of shoes. She then noticed that his ex’s common-law partner was seated inside the vehicle, despite previous requests for Robinson not to be present during visits.  The mother questioned her presence and explained to Police that the woman exited the vehicle, approached her in the yard, and allegedly punched her in the right eye without warning. She reported sustaining two additional blows to the face while attempting to shield her infant from harm. Fearing for both their lives, Crawford stated she continued trying to protect her baby during the incident.  The police report indicates that the altercation ended when the assailant walked away from the scene and departed with the man. Afterward, Crawford checked on her infant and observed swelling to the baby’s forehead.  Crawford later went to the Orange Walk Police Station to formally file a report. The incident has been recorded as an alleged assault, and police say both the man and the woman are being sought for questioning.
