Berris Neemaya Anglin of Progress Street, Orange Walk Town was killed on Saturday night inside his home with as many as nine gunshot wounds to his body. Love News understands that when his common law partner got home from work around twelve thirty on Sunday morning, she found her house door open and saw Berris in a pool of blood on the floor. 49-year-old Valerie Williams alerted the Police who arrived and found that the 45-year-old victim was shot once in the face, the left foot, the right hand, and abdomen. Assistant Police Commissioner Stacy Smith spoke on the preliminary findings in the investigation.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Investigators attached to the Orange Walk Police Formation are investigating the shooting death of 45-year-old Beris Anglin which occurred on Saturday 6 December 2025 in Orange Walk Town. This ongoing investigation comments on 7 December at approximately 12:30 am when the the common law wife of Anglin reported to police that upon her arrival at their residence she encountered the motionless body of Anglin inside that home with apparent gunshot wounds to the body. Police have since detained one person of interest in relation to his ongoing investigation. Mr. Anglin is known to police. As a matter of fact, he was charged just a few hours prior for a drug-related offense. He was given station bail and was to go before the magistrate court today. There is no motive so far that has been established. The person of interest that has been detained, interviews will be conducted to him to see how it advances his investigation.”
Anglin was shot twice to right shoulder and three times in the back. Scenes of Crime personnel found fourteen expended shells and five slugs at the scene while Berris’ body was taken to the morgue at the Northern Regional Hospital. Interestingly, it was nineteen and a half years ago that Orange Walk Police were called out to the very area where they found Berris’ father murdered. 80-year-old, George Anglin Senior was stabbed fifteen times inside a shed in his yard on Progress Street. His two sons, including Berris, who had just been released from prison, were the suspects in the homicide case. Police had charged them for their father’s murder in June 2006, but the matter never made it to trial. Berris’ name appears several times in our news archives. The most recent was in October 2020 when he was charged with several other persons for drug trafficking. In this case, Corozal Police conducted a search of a vehicle during an operation and found over 23 pounds of marijuana. The driver at the time was a police officer, Stephanie Patnett Cima who was with three other women and a minor.
