Pan Trinbago president Beverley Ramsey-Moore said she was disappointed about the turn of events relating to schools Panorama, and is hoping for early talks with the Education Ministry for the 2027 staging of this event.

Apart from the National Schools Panorama, a new competition – the Pan Trinbago Junior Panorama – was created this year after some schools opted out of the national event over it be relocated to Skinner Park in San Fernando.

Asked about this, Ramsey-Moore said an Act of Parliament would have conferred tremendous responsibility on Pan Trinbago as pan’s governing body.

“When we recognised there was room to entertain another category, we definitely opened it up so that all and sundry could participate, whether it be community organisations, schools, we are ready and able to give our young people the opportunity to perform on the grand stage.”

She said this year’s theme was legacy and it was about passing on the legacy to TT’s youth and celebrating that which was TT’s to cherish and keep.

“We have to allow our youths to have the opportunity to play on a big stage and enjoy the vibe of the Queen’s Park Savannah, which is the life of the party.”

Ramsey-Moore said the organisation still stood in support of the National School’s Panorama. The finals will take place on January 19 at Skinner Park, San Fernando.

Ramsey-Moore said she was disappointed that the organisation had to part ways like that with the Ministry of Education.

“But Pan Trinbago will not bow under my leadership. We will not bow without proper collaboration and conversation.” She added that it was still "one love" and that the culture is TT’s to keep and cherish.

Ramsey-Moore said she looks forward to early conversations with the ministry’s leadership to ensure the togetherness and one love continues for 2027.

However, she assured that Panorama 2026 would be another great event for the organisation.

“We know that we would have experienced challenges as we started out in November. But as I stand today (January 8) at the Queen's Park Savannah and the stage is almost complete.

“The North Stand is going up. We are already out there in the communities. We are going into the finals for the small band in San Fernando on Saturday (January 10) and then we begin the medium and large.

“We are out there, we are in the community, we are doing what we have to do. Pan is life. Pan is TT and there is nothing else that unites us as a people like sport and culture.”
