The authorities in Paris say they are preparing for a spike in crime during the Olympic Games in Paris, where the flow of tourists will increase significantly.
The Paris Summer Games will run from July 26 to August 11.
Paris is expected to welcome over 15 million visitors, over five million more than usual for the summer season.
With the massive influx of visitors expected during this global sporting event, President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, pointed to a possible increase in crimes such as pick-pocketing, violence and even sexual assault.
