Tia Clayton, Shashalee Forbes and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce all advanced to tomorrow’s semi-finals of the women’s 100 metres at the Paris Olympics.
Clayton was the first to qualify finishing second in heat-4 in 11.00 seconds behind Audrey Leduc of Canada in a national record of 10-point-95 seconds.
Forbes also finished second in her heat clocking 11.19 seconds with the race going to Twanisha Terry of the USA in 11.15 seconds.
And Fraser-Pryce ran a easy 10.92 seconds to finish behind Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith of the Ivory Coast who ran a season best 10.87.

Meanwhile, national champion and national record holder, Lamara Distin, failed to advanced in the women’s high jump with a leap of 1.88 metres.
And swimmer Josh Kirlew also failed to advance from the heats of the men’s 100-metres butterfly after finishing fifth in 54.66 seconds.
