A passenger arriving at Piarco International Airport this morning died after suffering a medical emergency in the Immigration Hall.
The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago confirmed that the incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. when the arriving international passenger became unresponsive shortly after entering the Immigration Hall.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) stationed at the airport responded immediately and provided urgent care.
The passenger was then taken to the Arima Health Facility by GMRTT.
However, the Authority later received confirmation that the passenger had died.
In a statement, the Airports Authority said:
“Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago wishes to extend deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the passenger during this difficult time.”
