Residents of Patchakan are on edge following reports of an alleged wildcat roaming the area and killing pets and small livestock. According to Village Chairman Roger Medina, the first reports surfaced about a week ago, when several families contacted him to report a wild animal attacking and killing pets and livestock. Since then, Medina says he has received multiple additional reports of sightings and further losses. Chairman Medina told Love News that the situation has become increasingly concerning, noting that at least one family has reportedly lost livestock valued at approximately five hundred dollars.
Medina also addressed circulating rumors that the animal had been captured on camera by a local shop. He confirmed that those reports are false and that no verified footage of the animal has been obtained so far. Within the community, opinions remain divided. Some residents attribute the incidents to superstition and folklore, while others firmly believe a wildcat is responsible and are calling for authorities to assist with capturing and relocating the animal to prevent further losses. Love News will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
