Patterson Hints at Lawsuit for FSC Stemming From SSL Fraud

Former prime minister, PJ Patterson, is criticising the government for its handling of the fraud scandal at Stocks and Securities Limited, SSL.

He made the comment at an event held at Summit Hotel in St. Andrew on Thursday night.

On January 12, 2023, news broke that Usain Bolt was among several clients whose accounts at SSL had been fleeced of millions of US dollars.

A probe was launched which subsequently led to the arrest and charge of Jean-Ann Panton, a former wealth advisor at SSL.

Patterson says the Financial Services Commission, FSC may need to prepare itself for a lawsuit.
