After experiencing the energy, style and unmistakable atmosphere of Miami’s South Beach during Memorial Day weekend, the promoters of Pool Cooler Fete, (PCF) returned to Jamaica with an idea: bring a taste of South Beach home. That inspiration will come to life on Friday, October 16, when PCF: South Beach celebrates the event brand’s 10th anniversary at Caymanas Golf & Country Club, transforming its signature poolside experience for a milestone staging that will officially kick-start Greatness Weekend 2026.
For promoters Curtis Hyatt, Sean Davis and Lorenzo Thomas, South Beach provides a fitting evolution for an event that was itself created to offer Jamaicans something different. PCF was first staged at the Olympia Crown Hotel in 2016. At the time, much of Kingston’s party scene was centred around nightclubs and traditional dances. The promoters saw an opportunity to make use of Jamaica’s tropical climate and move the party experience outdoors.
“When we started PCF, most people were going to clubs and dances, and we wanted to offer something outside of that usual setting,” Hyatt said. “We live in a tropical country, so why not make use of the outdoors? Ten years later, we were in Miami for Memorial Weekend, experiencing South Beach, and the thought came to us again: why not bring some of that experience home? This anniversary is about giving Jamaica South Beach, but with a Jamaican twist.” Over the decade, PCF has grown into a twice-yearly fixture on Jamaica’s entertainment calendar, building a following around its poolside atmosphere, fashion, music, celebrity appearances and, more recently, its expanding food offering. The promoters also identify safety and consistency as important elements of the brand’s longevity.
For its milestone anniversary, PCF is not attempting to recreate Miami in Jamaica. Instead, the promoters say PCF: South Beach will take inspiration from the destination’s visual identity, fashion and lifestyle and reinterpret it through the personality of the Jamaican event. The anniversary edition will retain the pool-party and cooler-fête elements for which PCF is known while introducing new experiences, including a food-inclusive VIP option.
PCF: South Beach will kick-start the four-event Heroes Weekend series called Greatness Weekend on Friday night before Greatness Weekend continues with RECALL: Straight Jeans & Fitted on Saturday, October 17; CUPS: Château Blanc, a premium food-inclusive breakfast party, on Sunday, October 18; and the Greatness Pink & White Brunch, a premium food-inclusive brunch party, on Heroes Day, Monday, October 19.
For PCF, however, October 16 represents more than opening night.
