Cardinals completed a flawless campaign at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, capping off a dominant performance with victories in the final two rounds to be crowned champions of the Courts All Sectors Netball League Under-16 tournament.

Led by star goal-shooter Trinity White, whose efficient conversion rate fuelled the attack all competition, Cardinals finished with an unblemished 5-0 record to lift the title.

Barataria Nettaz secured the runner-up spot behind reliable scoring from goal-shooter Alaya Dow, finishing with four wins. Meanwhile, Soul City and Arima United battled hard down the stretch to lock up third and fourth place respectively, with Soul City edging ahead on goal average. Bermudez United and Police Netball Youth Club (PNYC) rounded out the final standings.

Monday’s marquee clash between previously unbeaten teams ended in victory for Cardinals, who defeated Nettaz 35-14. White netted 24 goals from 35 attempts and received strong support from goal-attack Mariah Navarro, who scored 9 from 12.

Opening with a 9-5 first-quarter advantage, Cardinals systematically stretched their lead at every interval—17-9 at the half and 23-13 at the end of the third. Dow and goal-attack Jemma Weekes scored six goals each for the Nettaz, but could not halt the relentless pressure.

Earlier that day, Soul City produced a dominant defensive shutdown, overwhelming PNYC 29-1 in a match that saw PNYC held scoreless through the entire first half (15-0). Goal-shooter Annabelle Jones (18/31) and goal-attack Jordan Blackman (11/25) propelled the runaway win. Meanwhile, Bermudez United squeezed past Arima United 8-6 in a defensive battle, rallying from behind to take a 7-5 lead in the third period before holding on for the win behind Aaliyah Yearwood (4/9).

Cardinals carried their unstoppable momentum into Tuesday’s fixtures, beating PNYC 28-5 to extend their perfect record. White again led from the front with 15 goals from 20 attempts, while Venus Kirk was flawless with a nine-for-nine display off the bench. Cardinals bolted to an 11-3 halftime lead before holding PNYC to just two second-half goals.

Nettaz rebounded from Monday’s setback with a convincing 19-9 triumph over Arima United. Closing out the round, Soul City picked up their second straight blow-out win, cruising past Bermudez United 25-5.

Today, the junior netballers will battle in the individual shooting competition.
