Belize continues to strengthen its diplomatic and economic ties with the United States, as Prime Minister John Briceño and Foreign Minister Francis Fonseca engaged in a series of high-level meetings in Washington, D.C. this week. During their visit, the Belizean delegation held discussions with members of the Congressional Black Caucus, chaired by Yvette Clarke. Talks focused on shared priorities and strengthening cooperation between Belize and the United States. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also met with Gregory Meeks of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where they advanced discussions on bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest. Earlier in the visit, they held talks with Brian Mast, Chairman of the same committee, with a focus on enhancing trade cooperation and deepening the Belize–U.S. partnership. In another key engagement, the delegation met with Jamieson Greer, where discussions centered on expanding trade and investment opportunities between both countries, signaling Belize’s continued push to grow its economic footprint through international partnerships. As part of their official schedule, Prime Minister Briceño and Minister Fonseca also visited the Embassy of Belize in Washington, D.C. The meetings form part of Belize’s broader engagement in Washington, as government officials continue to pursue strategic alliances to boost investment, and diplomatic cooperation with key international partners.
