PM Briceño Heads to Washington for IMF and World Bank Meetings


Prime Minister John Briceño has left the country to participate in a series of high-level international meetings in the United States. According to the Office of the Prime Minister, Briceño departed today, en route to Washington D.C., where he will attend the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.  The annual Spring Meetings bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, and development leaders from around the world to discuss global economic trends, financial stability, and development priorities, issues that remain critical for small economies like Belize as it continues to navigate post-pandemic recovery and growth.  Prime Minister Briceño is expected to return to the country on Saturday.  In his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde will act as Prime Minister.
