Opposition spokesperson on local government, Natalie Neita Garvey, says the state of cemeteries across the island is a national disgrace.
She was speaking at the People’s National Party’s St Ann parish meeting in Brown’s Town on Thursday.
There are at least 39 public cemeteries in the country. It was announced last year that $200 million would be allocated to clean up the facilities.
Mrs Neita-Garvey says garbage collection should also be prioritised.
