PNP Caretaker Again Decries Removal of Campaign Signs in S.W St. Ann

PNP caretaker for South West St. Ann, Danishka Williams, is raising fresh concerns about political intimidation after she says several of her campaign boards were deliberately removed.

Ms. Williams is criticizing the silence of the sitting Member of Parliament, Zavia Mayne.

She’s also questioning the effectiveness of the Office of the Political Ombudsman, after formal complaints were made but remains unacknowledged.

The office of the political ombudsman was subsumed into the Electoral Commission of Jamaica last year.

It remains unclear who has been appointed to carry out the field functions previously conducted by the then stand-alone political ombudsman.
