Opposition Spokesman on Housing, Senator Floyd Morris, has dismissed Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness’ claims of being on track to reach the target of 70,000 new houses.

According to Senator Morris, the prime minister’s claim is a deception not supported by the data.

In a statement on Monday, Senator Morris says in 2023, Dr. Holness committed to building 43,000 houses. However, Senator Morris says the prime minister never stated who would construct the remaining 12,000.

The opposition spokesman says it’s unlikely the NHT achieved the milestone in two years.

Senator Morris says Dr. Holness is under pressure from the visionary housing policies set out by the People’s National Party. He’s calling on the primemMinister to come clean to the Jamaican people on the matter.
