Opposition Spokesman on Transport, Mikael Phillips, has criticised the government’s plan to implement a rural bus service.
He was addressing constituents at a campaign rally in South West St Ann on Sunday.
Over 250 schools are set to benefit under phase one of the service, which is expected to come on stream at the start of the next school year.
Sixty buses, which will all be retrofitted, are set to be pressed into service come September, with another 40 to be added in January 2026.
Phillips says the government’s plan is unsustainable.
Meanwhile, Phillips, who is the member of parliament, MP, for North West Manchester, says Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness is refusing to call the general elections because he fears defeat.
