PNP Demands Vaz Withdraw ‘Reckless’ Comments Following Shooting Near JLP Meeting

Reckless and Irresponsible.

That’s how the PNP is describing comments made by the JLP’s Daryl Vaz, following sounds of gunfire in the vicinity of a party meeting in Central Kingston on Sunday.

Following the disruption, the Senior JLP MP suggested that the incident was politically motivated.

The police have since stated that that the shooting incident was not politically linked.

In a release on Monday, the PNP says Mr. Vaz’s premature comments were not only dangerous but also inflammatory.

PNP General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, says the senior JLP member should withdraw the comments, which have been referred to the Office of the Political Ombudsman.
