PNP: Don’t Be Swayed by JLP’s Manifesto Promises

2 days ago 3

PNP campaign spokesperson, Donna Scott-Mottley, has criticised the JLP’s decision to launch its election manifesto at a mass rally in Sam Sharpe Square in St. James on Sunday.

Scott-Mottley says the decision sends the wrong message.

The PNP launched its manifesto in a ballroom at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel with an audience of its supporters and candidates.

The JLP says their manifesto, which it’s calling iChoose: The Next Chapter, is being launched at the mass rally in an attempt to take the document directly to the people.

Scott-Mottley is suggesting the Jamaican people should view any manifesto the JLP launches with scepticism based on past promises.

She was speaking at a media briefing at the party’s Old Hope Road Offices on Friday.

Meanwhile, the PNP’s Junior Spokesman on Finance, Cleveland Tomlinson, says it’s unacceptable that the country is heading into the first national political debate without the JLP’s election manifesto.

Tomlinson says the Jamaican people should take a dim view of the JLP’s posture.

Meanwhile, the PNP is expected to released a one page addition to its manifesto on Monday.

The party’s campaign administrator, Colin Campbell says the document will summarise the manifesto and present new ideas.
