PNP, JLP Trade Jabs Over General Election Date

1 day ago 1

The leadership of the country’s two major political parties are trading allegations over why Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has yet to call the general elections.

Over the weekend, PNP General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, accused Holness of hiding from voters over fears that his ruling JLP will be handed a massive defeat at the polls.

He says the current efforts of the ruling party are too late.

But speaking to Labourites on Sunday in West Portland, Prime Minister Holness declared that he’s prepared to go the distance while his political opponents are losing momentum.

He says the Opposition has grown tired.

Holness declared himself a stulla.

The General Elections are constitutionally due by December, but are widely expected by September.

Holness has indicated that he will soon name the date for the polls.
