PNP Pledges to Launch National Disabilities Fund

2 months ago 6

Opposition Spokesperson on Persons with Disabilities and Inclusion, Denise Daley, says a People’s National Party, PNP, administration will create a national disabilities fund within its first year of office.

Ms. Daley was making her contribution to the Sectoral Debate on Tuesday.

She says the PNP will launch a public education drive to inform people with disabilities about the Disability Rights Tribunal and their right to seek redress.

This, she says, will be twinned with the introduction of testing protocols for what she describes as invisible disabilities. These include anxiety, depression, and autism.

Ms. Daley, who is also spokesperson on gender, says a PNP administration will develop technology to better identify and locate incidents of gender-based violence.
