PNP’s Decision on Signing CRC Report Rests With Opposition Leader

1 year ago 69

Opposition representative on the Constitutional Reform Committee, CRC, Anthony Hylton, says although he’s not opposed to anything in the final report of the committee, the ultimate decision on whether to sign in agreement rests with the Opposition Leader.

Mr. Hylton and Senator Donna Scott Mottley are the Opposition members of the CRC.

They’ve been instructed by Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, not to sign off on the recommendations of the committee until the matter of Jamaica acceding to the appellate jurisdiction of the Caribbean Court of Justice, CCJ, is settled.

Mr. Hylton points out that the issue of the CCJ has always been one of concern for the PNP.
