Former Minister of Tourism, and former PNP Vice-President, Dr Wykeham McNeill, has got the nod to represent the party in the Trelawny Northern constituency in the next general elections.

Dr. McNeill was introduced at the constituency conference at William Knibb High School Sunday night.

The candidate says he intends to make North Trelawny a model constituency.

Dr. McNeill replaces Dennis Meadows who was removed following utterances in the run-up to the local government election in February, in which he appeared to be endorsing lottery scamming.

Dr. McNeill was formerly MP for Westmoreland Western.

He held the seat for four consecutive terms.

But he lost it to the JLP’s Morland Wilson in the September 2020 general election.

Dr. McNeill told comrades on Sunday that he committed a billion dollars in North Trelawny while he was Tourism Minister.

But says the facilities are not maximising their potential.
