Member of Parliament for North West Manchester, the People’s National Party’s, PNP, Mikael Phillips, is daring Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness, to call the general elections, if he’s confident in recent poll findings.

He was reacting to the latest Nationwide/Bluedot polls at a PNP divisional conference in Walderston, Manchester on Thursday.

Recent data from the polls revealed that there’s been a marginal increase in the number of Jamaicans who believe the country is headed in the right direction.

Thirty-six per cent of Jamaicans say the country is headed in the right direction. That’s up four percentage points from the 32 per cent who held a similar view in February this year.

But despite the increase, it’s still less than the 39 per cent of Jamaicans who say the country is on the wrong track.

Phillips slammed the prime minister on his handling of several national issues.
