People’s National Party, PNP, supporters mounted roadblocks early on Monday morning in Exton, South East St. Elizabeth to protest the installation of Norman Scott as constituency caretaker.
Scott, the mayor of Spanish Town, is poised to represent the PNP at the next general election, due later this year.
In a video seen by Nationwide News, debris was seen burning in Exton square in the pre-dawn hours on Monday.
At least three different pockets of fire were seen.
Images seen by Nationwide News showed a burnt out drum with debris, several pieces of rusted metal, tree branches, a torn down sign and stones.

One resident at the scene said she woke up and saw the fiery roadblocks.
In subsequent images obtained by our news centre, members of the Jamaica Fire Brigade were seen extinguishing the blaze. Police were also on the scene.
