People’s National Party, PNP, general secretary, Dr Dayton Campbell, says taxi operators should withhold their services from members and supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party on election day.

Dr. Campbell was speaking at a PNP meeting in Oracabessa, St. Mary on Sunday.

The government’s rural school bus programme is set to roll out with approximately 110 buses in September. It is set to benefit 258 rural schools in the first phase.

The Opposition PNP has proposed a plan that would see 20,000 students receiving a subsidy of $2,500 weekly to use taxis to get to and from school.

Dr. Campbell says the PNP intends to show appreciation to taxi operators.

Meanwhile, Dr Campbell says the PNP is winning the ‘traction war’ ahead of the next general election.

Dr. Campbell says the Jamaica Labour Party is behaving as if it’s the first party to campaign for reelection on the strength of its achievements.
