Opposition Spokesperson on Justice, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, is hailing the decision by the Supreme Court to support the People’s National Party’s, PNP, application for an injunction, barring the removal of political billboards in St. James.

Senator Scott-Mottley says this is yet another legal win for the PNP in its ongoing defence of democracy and fairness in Jamaica.

On Monday, the Supreme Court granted three PNP caretakers in the parish leave to seek judicial review of the decision by the St. James Municipal Corporation to take down multiple party campaign billboards on April 5, 2025.

The claim was filed on behalf of PNP prospective candidates for West Central St. James, Dr. Andre Haughton, Central St. James, Janice Allen and North West St. James, Allan Bernard.

The St. James Municipal Corporation was listed as the sole respondent.

The PNP is commending Dr. Haughton, Senator Allen, and Mr. Bernard for defending their rights and applauds the party’s legal team for once again securing justice.

The party says it’s reaffirming its commitment to standing against all forms of political intimidation and to ensuring that Jamaicans can participate in free, fair, and transparent elections.
