Police Constable Jhawn Gamboa Being Transferred to Transport Ministry ?

Leaked information to Love News indicates that Police Constable Jhawn Gamboa could be moving from the Belize Police Department to the Ministry of Transportation; however, the ministry says no appointment has been confirmed at this time. A government memorandum obtained by Love News, dated June 29, 2026, indicates that the ministry supported Gamboa’s application and submitted a proposed transfer on promotion to the Ministry of the Public Service. The memorandum, signed by Chief Executive Officer Chester Williams and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs, requests support for Gamboa’s release from the Security Services Commission to the Public Service Commission. It also requests an in-depth assessment and two recent performance appraisal reports.  Our newsroom made checks with the Ministry of Transportation and was informed that, despite the transfer document seen by Love News, Gamboa’s appointment has not been confirmed. According to the ministry, the position in question would be Assistant to the Deputy Chief Transport Officer. The Deputy Chief Transport Officer is currently listed as Peter Williams.  Love News will continue to seek clarification on the status of the process, including the requirements and selection procedures associated with the post.
