Police Constable killed in early morning crash in Westmoreland

A police constable was killed in a two vehicle collision along Farm Pen Road in Westmoreland early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m.

According to the police, Constable Chadrick Cooke was driving a motor car along the roadway when a Toyota Noah approached from the opposite direction.

Reports are that one of the vehicles failed to keep to the left side of the road, resulting in a collision. Cooke sustained serious injuries in the crash and later died.

The condition of the driver of the Toyota Noah is not known.

Constable Cooke last served at the Frome Police Station in Westmoreland.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) High Command has expressed condolences to Cooke’s family, friends and colleagues following his death.
