Police Department to Stage First-Ever All-Woman March

Belize’s law enforcement community is preparing to make history next month as the Belize Police Department stages its first-ever All-Woman March, an event organizers say will highlight the growing role of women within the force.  The march, scheduled for early next month, forms part of activities marking the start of Women’s Month. Police officials say the initiative is intended to celebrate the contributions, professionalism and leadership of female officers across the country, while also inspiring young women to consider careers in law enforcement.  Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith says the milestone event reflects both progress and recognition for women serving in the department.

Smith explained that the All-Woman March is expected to feature female officers from multiple units and ranks, demonstrating unity and pride within the organization. The department views the initiative as part of its broader effort to promote gender inclusion and visibility in policing.  Authorities say additional details on the route and participation will be released closer to the date.
