Before the ceremony even began, excitement filled the streets of Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, on Wednesday as police outriders, with sirens sounding, escorted Jamaica’s top performing 2026 PEP student, Jasonnia Beadle, to her graduation.

A red carpet was rolled out in honour of the outstanding student, who was among 60 graduates of Park Mountain Primary and Infant School celebrating their achievement at a ceremony held at St Matthew’s Anglican Church in Santa Cruz.

The special police escort was arranged by Superintendent Coleridge Minto, commander of the St Elizabeth Police Division, as a tribute to Jasonnia’s exceptional academic success.

Park Mountain Primary and Infant School gained national recognition last week after Jasonnia was announced as Jamaica’s top performer in the 2026 Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations, earning an impressive score of 394.2.

Jasonnia, who served as the school’s head girl, proudly led the graduating class into the church alongside the institution’s top boy, Najhay Nish, as classmates, teachers, family members and well wishers celebrated the milestone.
