Police investigations into the murder of nineteen-year-old Jamir Cambranes have taken a significant turn, as authorities have now identified the registered owner of the vehicle believed to have been used in the crime. Love News has confirmed that the silver Chevrolet Equinox bearing license plate BZC-50485 is registered to Osman Black, a resident of the Burrell Boom area. The vehicle was reportedly seen on the night Cambranes was lured from his Euphrates Avenue home and later found dead along the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road. According to inside sources within the Belize Police Department, Black has been asked to present himself to investigators to provide a statement as part of the ongoing probe. Our newsroom has also learnt that Black claims he had rented out the vehicle to an individual unknown to him, allegedly without requiring any form of documentation. This development has also brought into sharp focus a wider concern, that Belize currently has no formal regulations governing the private rental of vehicles. Meanwhile, investigators continue to pursue multiple leads. Love News understands that while Cambranes was not a gang member, he was acquainted with individuals linked to a Belize City gang and may have come under pressure to engage in activities outside his norm. At this time, no charges have been laid, but several persons of interest are being sought. The circumstances surrounding the murder remain troubling. Investigations reveal that sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 on Tuesday night, Cambranes left his home on a bicycle to meet with two male individuals who were reportedly inside the silver SUV. Concern grew later that night when his girlfriend, Dayana Garay, attempted to contact him around 9:20 p.m. but received no response. She began tracking his phone, which led to a location along the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road where his body was found.
