Police Inspector Ester Cal Named Top Graduate at Regional Academy

Inspector Ester Cal of the Belize Police Department has earned two of the highest distinctions at a regional leadership programme in Guyana.  Cal was named valedictorian of the Junior Officers’ Course Number One of 2026 and also received the Best Academic Paper Award, which she shared with Assistant Superintendent D. Chaitram of the Guyana Police Force.  The two-month programme was conducted at the Guyana Police Force Academy from June 1 to July 31. The internationally accredited programme brought together 31 officers representing ten Caribbean countries and several security and public service institutions.  Participants received training aimed at strengthening leadership, professional competence and cooperation among law-enforcement agencies across the region.  The Belize Police Department says Cal’s performance reflects her belief that leadership is defined by service and character, rather than rank or authority.
