Police Investigate Death of Former Prison Inmate at KHMH

A former prison inmate is at the morgue tonight, and police have launched an investigation into his death. The deceased has been identified as fifty-year-old Mexican national Jorge Rodriguez, who had been imprisoned since December 2025 for an immigration offence.  Police say Rodriguez was found in his cell on August 22 after reportedly inflicting harm upon himself. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he remained hospitalized.  Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the hospital at around eight-thirty yesterday morning. His body was subsequently transferred to the morgue, where it now awaits a post-mortem examination.  The circumstances surrounding the incident and his death remain under investigation.
