A police investigation is underway following a fatal shooting at Mc Shine Lands, Laventille, earlier today.
According to reports, two men were shot by law enforcement officers around 10:30 am on 42nd Street.
One man, identified by residents only as “Sharky,” was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while the second victim is reported to be in critical condition.
The circumstances leading to the confrontation remain unclear.
Residents in the area have claimed the men were unarmed at the time of the incident.
One resident, who recently moved to the area, told Guardian Media, “Sharky came to check me, and he went outside to take a smoke…next thing I know is gunshots and police take he body and gone.”
Another male resident expressed his dismay, stating, “I invite meh bredrin to come and take a drink, but look at what happen.”
Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the matter.
