Police Step Up Patrols in San Jose Village Over Speeding Concerns

Police in Orange Walk have increased their engagement with residents of San Jose Village following concerns about speeding vehicles and motorcycles within the community.

On Wednesday, Officer Commanding the Trial Farm Police Sub-Station, Inspector Melanie Anderson, Deputy Commander Inspector David Cal and other officers conducted a meet-and-greet operation in the village. The team visited several homes to hear directly from residents about safety and policing concerns. Residents identified speeding along village streets as a major problem and called for the installation of speed bumps to improve road safety. Officers assured the community that increased police patrols would be conducted as the concerns are taken up with the relevant authorities.

The officers also shared crime-prevention advice, including measures residents can take to secure their homes and protect property left in their yards. Contact cards bearing the Trial Farm Police Sub-Station’s telephone number were distributed to provide residents with a direct line for assistance.  Community members welcomed the police presence and expressed appreciation for the visit and continued engagement
