Police Warn Businesses of Rising Threat from Masked Criminals on Motorcycles

The Belize Police Department has issued a public alert urging business owners and the wider community to stay vigilant following recent reports of suspicious activity involving motorcycle riders wearing full-face helmets. According to the advisory, officers have observed instances where motorcyclists enter businesses without removing their helmets, as well as cases where motorcycles are parked outside or near commercial establishments with riders remaining fully masked. Police say these behaviors may signal planned criminal activity, including potential robberies.  The alert encourages store owners, employees, and the public to take note of these warning signs and to act swiftly if something appears unusual.  Authorities are reminding residents that if you suspect a crime, call the police immediately.  The department stresses that individuals should not approach suspicious persons but instead report the activity as soon as possible.  The warning is part of ongoing crime-prevention efforts heading into the busy holiday season.
