The Office of the Political Ombudsman says it’s maintaining a watchful eye on the conduct of political parties and candidates as campaigning intensifies ahead of the general election.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ombudsman says it has taken note of flags, display boards and other paraphernalia erected, as well as public utterances from political actors.
The comments follow the recent controversy surrounding South West St. Catherine MP, Everald Warmington.
On Sunday, Warmington uttered several curse words on on a political platform in Central Westmoreland.
The Ombudsman’s office says it has been in dialogue with the general secretaries of the two political major parties regarding complaints against their members.
It says it has received eight such complaints since March.
It says they are being actively investigated.
