Jamaican producer Rvssian is extending his international winning streak as “Pongo,” his latest collaboration with Puerto Rican superstar Rauw Alejandro and Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight Wizkid, continues to gain serious traction across global music platforms. The single has climbed to No. 13 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, after debuting at No. 75 in Spain, and entered the Spain Spotify Daily Top Songs chart at No. 88 back in March. Meanwhile, the official music video has already amassed more than 7.5 million YouTube views in just two months, adding further momentum to the cross-cultural anthem.
Released in March via Sony Music Entertainment US Latin and Head Concussion Records, “Pongo” is quickly emerging as another major crossover success for Rvssian, who has steadily built a reputation as one of the Caribbean’s most influential hitmakers. The producer previously struck global success with “Santa,” his collaboration with Rauw Alejandro and Ayra Starr, which exploded internationally and generated hundreds of millions of streams and views across platforms. With “Pongo,” Rvssian appears to be doubling down on the growing fusion of Latin music, Afrobeats and Caribbean rhythms.
The chemistry between Rauw Alejandro and Rvssian also continues to prove effective commercially. While Rauw brings his established Latin fanbase and melodic versatility, Wizkid’s inclusion expands the song’s reach deep into the global Afrobeats market. The result is a record designed for worldwide circulation at a time when genre boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred. Industry observers have noted that collaborations blending multiple regional sounds are now dominating streaming culture, particularly among younger audiences consuming music across TikTok, Spotify and YouTube simultaneously.
Beyond the charts, “Pongo” signals another important milestone in Rvssian’s evolution from behind-the-scenes producer to front-facing global curator. For years, the Jamaican creative has been responsible for crafting hits for major international acts, but his recent releases show a stronger focus on building his own artist brand alongside the music itself. The early chart success of “Pongo” suggests that strategy is paying off.
As the single continues to gain traction across streaming services and international playlists, the collaboration is reinforcing Rvssian’s growing influence in the modern global music landscape. With Billboard momentum, Spotify growth and millions of YouTube views already secured, “Pongo” may be positioning itself as one of the standout Afro-Latin crossover records of the year.
