Popcaan’s 2025 is shaping up to be a defining year. Just months after teasing the North American expansion of his Unruly Fest brand, the dancehall star is gearing up to release his next project — a deeply personal and spiritual 12-track EP titled Nothing Without God, arriving November 7. The project promises to reveal a more reflective side of the Unruly Boss, blending themes of perseverance, gratitude, and divine purpose while cementing his status as one of dancehall’s most versatile figures.
The Nothing Without God EP brings together an impressive lineup of collaborators and producers. Fans can look forward to powerful link-ups like “Kick It Wid Myself” featuring Chronic Law and “Family First” alongside his brother Natebadz. Behind the boards are familiar names such as Anju Blaxx, Droptop Records, Damage Music, Disaster Music, and Popcaan’s nephew Joel Engineer, who co-produced standout tracks “Opportunity” and “Preserved Me.” According to his manager Cobe, the project embodies “a new level of maturity and faith,” reflecting Popcaan’s growth both as an artist and a man.
This latest body of work also signifies Popcaan’s bold step into independence, following his 2023 album Great Is He released under Drake’s OVO Sound. While that project highlighted his global reach and crossover appeal, Nothing Without God finds Popcaan reclaiming full creative control — steering his career in a direction that feels both personal and purposeful. The title track, already a fan favourite with over 6.8 million YouTube views, serves as the EP’s guiding light — a testament to resilience and gratitude amid life’s challenges.
The timing of this release couldn’t be more symbolic. In August, Popcaan teased the Canadian edition of Unruly Fest, marking the festival’s second international expansion following its London edition in 2024. Together, the festival and the EP signal a new chapter for the St. Thomas native — one that merges his spiritual awakening with his mission to elevate dancehall on the world stage.
As Nothing Without God prepares to drop, one thing is clear: Popcaan isn’t just delivering music — he’s sharing a movement rooted in faith, family, and freedom.
