Investigations are underway into the death of a police officer whose body was found at her Port-of-Spain home on Tuesday night.
Police said officers were called to the Lodge Place home of Jaye Bonard, by neighbours at around 8.25 pm, who claimed to have tried making contact with her several times throughout the day but received no response.
Officers entered the home and found Bonard’s body on the floor of the bedroom, with white foam coming from her mouth. Her body bore no marks of violence.
Neighbours told officers that Bonard was an epileptic and was prone to seizures.
A district medical officer was called in and declared Bonard dead at the scene.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I also visited the scene.
Police said Bonard was last assigned to the Port of Spain City Hall.
