PoS man charged with Abercromby Street murder

A 46-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Jason Francis Hurdle, who was killed on August 2.

The TTPS, in a statement issued yesterday, said Kevin Michael John, of Port-of-Spain, appeared before Master Adia Mohammed on Wednesday.

The matter was adjourned to October 24 for a status hearing.

Hurdle, 34, of Gonzales, was found dead along Abercromby Street, Port-of-Spain, on August 2.

A suspect was arrested five days later, on August 7, by officers of the Port-of-Spain Task Force.

Investigations were led by ASP (Ag) Ramjag, Insp (Ag) Stanisclaus, Insp (Ag) Seecharan, and Insp (Ag) Ramsumair, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region One, with the assistance of other agencies.

Following advice from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, PC Jaisumair, of HBI Region One, charged John on August 12.
