Prime Minister Briceño Joins Presidents of Mexico and Guatemala for Regional Talks

Prime Minister John Briceno led a delegation to Mexico today for discussions with neighboring counterparts.  The discussions came as Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum initiated a working tour focused on strengthening regional ties with neighboring nations, Guatemala and Belize. The diplomatic mission began in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, where she conducted her daily morning briefing.  Following the morning conference, President Sheinbaum traveled to Flores, Guatemala, for a bilateral meeting with her Guatemalan counterpart, President Bernardo Arévalo. The discussion was the first of two high-level engagements scheduled for the day.  Later, she journeyed to Calakmul, Campeche, where a trilateral summit took place with both President Arévalo and Prime Minister Briceño.  Our correspondent Rafael Dominguez was at the Hotel Mundo Maya Calakmul where the three leaders met.

We will have highlights of this evening’s Calakmul press conference in subsequent newscasts./
