Prime Minister John Briceno has issued a traditional video recorded message for the Christmas season. In his 3-minute recording, the Prime Minister touched on hope, religion and the goodness of the Belizean people. Here is a snippet of his Christmas message.
John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “Families are preparing meals, exchanging gifts, enjoying the laughter of children. These simple moments gathered around the table, praying together, laughing together, dreaming together are the true treasures of the season. They remind us that no matter our challenges we always find hope in each other. This year I have seen that Belizean’s spirits shine more brightly than ever. I have seen neighbors helping neighbors, strangers becoming friends and communities pulling together to lift one another up. From comment to community our parks are lit up and our children play happily among the lights and decorations while our youth pose for numerous photos which bring smiles. In all their faces we see joy, how beautiful it is. All of this including the spirit of generosity, compassion and unity is the greatest gift we share as a nation.”
